On 11 February 2026, the Consul General of Georgia in Trabzon, Mr. Nikoloz Iashvili, held a courtesy meeting with the newly appointed Governor of the Trabzon Province, Mr. Tahir Şahin.
The Consul General congratulated Governor Şahin on his recent appointment and wished him success in his future endeavors.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the principal areas of bilateral cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Türkiye. Particular emphasis was placed on the close, friendly, and partnership-based relations between the two countries. The discussion also focused on prospects for the development of tourism, the enhancement of economic cooperation, and the deepening of interregional ties.
